Why are there no results for "low boost" or even "boost" for that matter, in nico's archived content. Is it my computer or somthing?

Anyway, I am having some problems with low boost on my s13 after swapping in an sr20det w/s14 turbo. It starts and runs ( a little rough in the low rpms) but it makes very low boost. I would have to say max boost is around 2 psi with about -20psi vacuum at idle. The turbine shaft play isnt too exessive, and there is no smoke coming from the exhaust. Their is no boost controller installed, but the car does have a greedy rs bov and greedy fmic. I checked for leaks and i cant find anything that stands out. any ideas on what could be wrong and how i can check for them?.could it be a falty actuator?could it be an exhaust leak? (i do smell exessive exhaust gases)i have my actuator vacuum hose hooked up to the large nipple on the righthand side of the throttle body.

Check the wastegate arm and see if it's connected. Also check the wastegate solenoid itself and see if it's diaphragm is ripped, messed up, stuck in the open position. I would say check your vacuum lines but that'd give you an overboost problem.

If you take the turbo off to check it, make sure the flapper on the exhaust side isn't rusted/stuck/jammed open.

That's about what I can tell you over the internet.

Oh, check the fins on both sides, make sure they're all there. Runs rough at id'e and doesn't boost?...You can also double check and make sure the vacuum line to your gauge is hooked up correctly and not broken somewhere.

But in the Diagnostic Process, start with the simplest solution first, and work your way down the line.
