I posted this on the nissan mechanic forum, but have yet to get a response...so maybe here I can get an answer. Sorry for double-posting, but I have to work tomorrow, and need my headlights...

The other day I realized in the evening that my headlights werent on, but they should have been. Anyway, the high-beams work, and the low beams dont. I took out the headlights and they seem fine, no rattling when I shake them, so I doubt that both filaments would have blown at the same time. I also checked the fuse box, but no fuses were blown that I could tell. Which fuse should I be checking for exactly? I know they are labeled but sometimes its confusing. Also, when I turn the knob that turns my headlights on, there is a clicking noise coming from somewhere near the fuse box in the engine. Again, my car is a 1991 240SX w/ the pop-up headlights. Everything else works totally fine, I just cant figure out whats up with the low-beams. Any help, comments, or suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Replace you sealed beam lights. Not expensive and it should fix you problem. I've seen it many times on many different vehicle with sealed beam headlights, the low beam goes and only the highs work.

hope this helps,

I'll go pick up some new headlights tomorrow...these are less than a year old though. Also, what are the odds that the low beams would stop working on both @ the same time? Thanks for the advice!

That clicking you hear is the relay switch, so if you hear it then it IS getting juice (in theory). It is possible that both of your low beams went at the same time.... but more likely one went out and you just didn't notice it until the other went too. I mean... how often do we check our lights.. usually not until we can't see anything because they are BOTH out!:D

Replace them and hopefully that will solve the problem. If not... get back to us!
