Ok so I'm planning a couple retrofit projects but one of the things I'm not sure about is if I retrofit a projector for the low beam will I still be able to use the aiming dial inside the car? I'm not sure how this mechanism works. Hopefully someone can help me out with this. Also the hi beam projectors are hallogen, is it possible to fit an hid bulb in them?

Thanks, Pat.

It depends if you are able to retrofit the projecter with the motor housing. My low beam Q45 projector retrofit on my IS300 does infact retain the factory auto leveler, so I don't see why it can't be done on your headlights...anything is possible.

id like to see the q45 "gatling gun" type like sicwitit has in his is300 in the pathfinder, i think it would look sick, even just 1 projector looks good too like someone posted a pic of one they found in a parking lot.

the Q45 projector is cool looking, but honestly, it sucks for light output. even the Q45 it came with had a seperate low beam to compensate for its low light output. This is why I had to put in the Bi-xenon from a BMW in the high beams. that way I could use its lowbeam leads to run to my fog lights, and still retain my high beams...Thus, I don't have the factory fogs since I've got intercooler pipe and an oil cooler behind the front bumper taking up all possible space.

Good info, I just wonder if the motor is strong enough to move a projector when its only designed to move a bulb. I'll have to wait until I bake the lights open to look at it. I have a Feeling I'll have to abandon the height adjustment feature tho. it will be a while before I get started I need lots of time to plan and get needed parts.

Anyone know about the hi beam projectors in the qx4 lights? I hate how the light is yellow Id like to get a 4300k d2s bulb in there but I dont know if it will fit. I did the mod to keep the fogs on with the hi beams and my plan is to retrofit tsx projectors in the lows and some projectors in the fogs and go all 4300k for maximum light output.

if you wanna be different, figure out a way to retrofit the new LS460 LED projectors into your housings! I've seen it done on a number of vans here in Japan, its an absolutely awesome looking light setup.

let me know the details if you do this!

I have retrofitted Nissan Terrano Regulus projectors into my 99 QX4 and the lights come with a built in adjuster motor, but my truck does not have the adjustment dial. It's probably just a matter of getting the switch and hooking everything up it's like 4 wires.

I'm retrofitting mine with FX35 Bi-Xenon projectors with gatling gun shrouds. I'll post when I receive them (about 2-3 weeks).

I had an easy retrofit on my last car (ML320). This one, I'm having it professionally done for me. I'll ask him to take pics though.
Yea, my parts are coming from TRS. They are having a bundle sale now. I'm getting the FX-R Stage IV.

PS: I just spoke to the company. They are willing to do a group buy if we get enough people interested. Of course, I assume you guys want to wait til mine are installed :bigthumb: .

Not sure if you're specifically looking for the QX4, but another user (ganesh21) and I both got our Pathy's done at the same time and same place.
You can see both of ours here:

yea thanx SBK, i have checked that out a lot of times before but the problem is the i have the 02 QX4, and they have a high projectors and low HID reflector headlights...

Now the Low beam housing is kinda small and i am not sure which projectors will be used and how much trouble i will have using projectors you used...

whether the D2S bulb sockets have any trouble holding the projectors?

No I havent done this, I still want to but when I found out the cost of these lights I think I'll opt for sending them off to be done professionally.

That question should be directed to your retrofitter of choice. I see no reason why it couldn't be accommodated to fit. :gotme
