The bulb goes into the projector, it's held in by a metal retaining clip. And it looks like you have xenon lights, so yes, you would need D2S...however if you have halogen lights (not xenon) then you'll need H4 or H1 I believe (can't remember, you can find this information line with some further searching or maybe someone will chime in). Based on you having the journey and tech package per your user info, I believe that means you definitely have HID/xenon lights.
You'll likely have to remove the wheel unless you have super tiny hands/shoulders and remove the wheel well splash guard to get to the back of the headlight assembly...if you don't feel comfortable doing that you might have to make an expensive trip to your dealer to get this done. I believe there is a guide in the FAQ/HowTo thread in my signature on this.
Also, my personal recommendation, considering the age of the car, is to swap out both lights so they match. Your driver side lamp has a lot of hours on it and is 'burned in' while the new one you install in the passenger side is well...new. I can pretty much guarantee they will not match. Even if you don't have xenon lights, you'll likely see a difference between two halogen lights so I'd still swap both.
Also, if you do have xenon lights, the OEM 'spec' temperature is 4300k. I would not go over 6000k, your lights will be useless.
As for light bulb itself, many here would recommend you an OSRAM Xenarc CBI or CBH bulb from a place like TheRetrofitSource.com. Not sure I'd trust a cheap Amazon no-name bulb unless I was trading the car in very soon. I mean, those things are $11...while real quality HID bulbs are approaching $200...for a reason.
Up to you, of course.
