Where did you purchase the battery? It is not all that unusual to come up with a bad button type of battery since they sometimes sit on the shelf for a long period of time. Purchase one at a high volume store.

It it happens again take it into the dealer. It does seem odd based on the model year that this is a problem but you may be activating the remote inside you pocket, etc.

What Perry says.

It is important where you keep your fob.

Here is my situation. I use one fob and the other is staying in the garage in the key cabinet on the wall. Which is so close to my car and keep communicating to it. So I can drain the battery without using the key fob at all.

I drained one and replaced the battery worked fine than a month later when I was cleaning the car I used that fob. It was on low battery again. That's when I started thinking something fishy. So I replaced the battery and kept my spare fob in the house. Checked it few weeks later no issue. Put it back to the cabinet and few weeks later low again.

I did not bother to replace it. That was about 5 months ago. Still works lol.I was thinking about relocating the key cabinet but being lazy to do it and busy with other projects.
