Ok, so I've managed to get myself in trouble with the G recently. And I have a couple of minor complaints about the G with regard to road noise and some minor rattles.

It's all about perspective, really. Even while strictly observing the posted speed limits , the G is a hoot to drive.

There I am, stuck in Sacramento commuter traffic wishing I had some open road space to get home and it hit me.

I'm listening to some nifty tunes, the windows rolled down and the top is pulled back....

Then I look around me and observe the poor saps in their Camrys, Civics, Accords, Jettas and Tauruses, etc. I think to myself, I have a really sweet car and you....well, you don't!

I love my G!

What do you mean Taurus can beat the G no problem.

The G is too heavy and slow and let me think what else. Yeah not so luxury.

I'd take a 3 years old Taurus instead of the brand new G.That's it I am trading my G for a Taurus.

actually, the taurus wagon was one of the best cars I ever owned.....as far as serving it's purpose. At the time, we were hauling 3 kids (two of which were toddlers) and an australian shepherd around...OH, and the play pin and stroller!!!! Had the wagon for almost 10 years. I think the only things that I replaced were one cv joint and the ac compressor. Did those myself, so no big expense.

The very first car I purchased new was a '94 Taurus LX. I thought I was styling in luxury and even special ordered it with bucket seats. After replacing the power steering pump, the entire rack and pinion assembly, two transmissions, the radiator and a blown head gasket all before 60k miles, it was time to discard the POS.

My parents, who owned a Windstar, had to replace the blown motor at 54k miles. They had purchased the extended warrantee, but since they were retired the car was more than 5 years old with very low mileage and thus the blown motor was not covered. Ford left them hanging with a $4k bill for a remanufactured motor.

We are now a happy family of import owners!

I think most of us have their story with all the Nort American cars. I still own a ford, the 3rd ford in my life. I had/have no issues with them at all. 2001 than replaced it with an 05 than that is replaced with an 07.

That's what my wife use for shoping. You know when they got that ache. Lets go shopng.

I had horrible popping noises with my G. Turns out it was a loose rear axle bolt.

Dealership re-torqued it and the car isn't popping as much now. I do have some noises coming from the roof area.

zozo, just saw your post.96 Cobra has 83K miles. Not superstitious, but dont want to jinx it (knock, knock), but really no problems. AC locked up probably due to not driving it, but I beat on it until it starting working again. So, I make sure I drive it at least once a week and spin the AC.Engine is pretty special for a ford. Hand built, 6 bolt main, DOHC, crank imported from Germany, block & heads imported from Italy. The two builders sign the valve covers.Panoz puts them in his sportscars. I think the engines also look pretty impressive. Mine is all stock except for a K&N

That's pretty damn good. I asked you because my body keep asking me if I had any problem with my other car(ford). I had no issue at all. He wants to get a newer style Mustang but my other friend has nothing else just a problem. So he is afraid to buy one. The guy replaced the clutch, right side wheel bearing, front brakes and there is 25k miles on the car. That's scary. I told him to go on forums and read but he is you know " I don't have time " type of guy.

zozo, not only does the cobra have a different motor, but different brakes and springs. I did the front pads at around 70K and rear at 80K...they were original. Still had some life left too. still on original clutch and it feels fine (knock..knock).Tell you bud to check comsumer reports....some of the newer stangs are on the list of vehicles to avoid.

appologies for zozo getting me started on mustangs....his fault...

Yeap my fault and a little more

Sorry boys won't happen again

I let him know about the consumer report.

That is pretty impressive change your brakes @70k. As you mentioned it is a cobra not the same with the other stangs.
