Just to let everyone know the history behind my newest car comes with a pretty steed price tag. It all started off back in high school. I had been reading a book about the 100 top sports cars and as I was flipping through the pages I came across a 1990 300zx TT. I was in LOVE. Brad and Nissan 300 sitting in a tree, K..I..S..S..I..N..G...first come love, then.....

Sorry, my bad, got carried away.

My first car ever, was a 1998 4dr black Dodge Status. I ended up ricing the crap out of that car. 18in low profile tires, front lower lip, big freakin bird splittin spoiler, sound system, and FART CANNON. And about all I put a hood scoop on it. I even wrote "Stratus" on the front windshield just to let everyone know what I was driving. (Sold it, Thank God)

My next car was a 1998 Z24 Chevy Cavalier, I riced the crap out of it. Except I had it professionally done. Body kit molded to the car, painted green with a blue pearl. Looked really good. For a little while. Being in southern indiana isn't the nicest to a car with a fiberglass body kit. The final blow to the body kit came as I was driving down the highway at 5 in the morning on my way to work. A semi truck had lost an entire tire tread and it was sitting in the middle of my lane. Needless to say I did not move out of the way enough and it riped the molded passenger side skirt right off the car. I was pissed. $1800 paint job down the drain. Never again will I mess with body kits, unless they are plastic or polyurithane.

The next ride I had was a girls mountain bike. Imagine that, I would ride that thing everywhere. Like a moped, fun to ride, just dont let your friends see you do it. However, a moped would have been a step up in this case. Since I was working at an apartment complex I even used it haul me around doing the maintenance jobs. I even used it to get 50lbs of groceries from the store. Big pain in my butt.

I finally was able to buy my buddies 1994 Ford Ranger, very nice truck. At this time I was working for some friends and one of them showed up with the Bedford chief of police and he asked me if I would trade him my Ranger for a full sized 2001 Ford F150. It didn't take me long to decide what to do. $3000 truck or $10,000 truck. HMMMMM Not a hard choice to make.

And that now takes us to the near future, 15 yrs after first laying eyes on the Z. I had mentioned that I was in love with the 300zx TT. Well, one day a friend of mine and I were dropping off a truck he was selling at a friends of his car lot. It just so happens that I guy at the dealership was selling a white 1990 300ZX TT. Had to have it!!! I ended up trading him my F150 I had just gotten a couple weeks earlier for the car and a 1998 GMC Jimmy. After a couple of month the jimmy crapped out on me and died. Oh well. I still had the 300ZX TT

This now brings me to the current situation at hand. I am currently waiting to hear what the result is going to be from the prosecuting attorney to see if they have a case or not. If you would like to know more read "Southern Indiana Redneck Smashed My Car". A couple of weeks later I was able to acquire another 300 in better shape than the white one.

Here is a list of the mods done to it from before to up to date.

18in rims and tiresfiberglass hoodfiberglass spoilerHID'saftermarket frontbumperaftermarket intercoolertest pipes all the way backstereoguages out the waazooboost jetsnew seat coversspeakersnew intercooler piping

I ended up picking it up for $1800 and had to take another $1500 dollars of parts off of the white car. It is definitely worth having a spare car to take parts off of. However, I still have the motor, transmission, rear end, wiring harness, ecu, bad turbos, intercoolers, radiator, and hicas still on the white car which I am waiting to be able to sell. When it comes time I plan on selling the white car for no more than $1000 or best offer. The white car would be a really good parts car for a TT swap. Most of the parts swapped out were interior pieces. However when I sell the car I plan on including all of that.

So here are some pictures of the aftermath of what I currently have.ENJOY!

I thought the same, and was surprised the car seems pretty solid despite a few rough spots. Then again, you got the $10,000 F150 for the $3,000 Ranger so maybe people were helping you out?

Regardless, glad to see you are moving forward and still a Z32 owner!

The reason I was able to pick it up for $1800 was that the guy who owned it before me couldn't figure why it was running badly and didn't have any of the parts. He had no experience with the car. He only paid $1200 for the car any way. He got it from a guy down in North Carolina and that guy had to get rid of it because of his wife. Before him, a younger guy owed him money and he was able to get the car instead. The younger guy owned it was the one that did a lot of the stupid mistakes I had to fix.

For instance:1. disconnected the rear defrost 2. eliminated hicas in front and not the rear 3. eliminated rear windshield wiper 4. broke a lot of the plastic panels around the steering wheel 5. put in racing harnesses and connected them in the back to the rear strut bar 6. the part of the harness that connects to the floor they connected them under the seat with chain (YES I DID SAY CHAIN) 7. added two boost gauges, one for each side8. had intercooler connected wrong, one turbo feeding the other9. installed BOV's10. Greased BOV's 11. took out recirculator valves and left open 12. I had to repaint the rims and clear coat them, they painted the rims with them still on car so only one side of the spokes got painted13. didnt wire up spoiler tail light14. covered interior with pleather and did a nasty job on it15. took out seat belts16. passenger window brackets all broke17. front bumper scraped up18. used plumbers gaskets for intercooler piping, when boost hit the joints would expand like blowing up balloon19. krylon paint job20. took out rear antenna21. holes in exhaust22. didn't have T-top covers for inside car23. wrong ECU24. cracked overflow tank for radiator25. disconnected windshield wiper tank26. cheap silicone boost lines (brittle) I didn't mind paying what I did for it because he had some nice welding done to the car and had it shipped up from I believe North Carolina. Plus with all the after market items on it, I couldn't pass it up. After the previous owner and I fixed almost everything on the list I am almost done. At this point the only thing it needs is tint and a new paint job. My best friend and I are going to be painting it gun metal gray in the spring and of course putting tint in. Other than that the car is pretty solid. On the down side, the idiots that owned it before him decide to eliminate the hicas in the front and didnt install the rear end stiffener. If the tires get loose the back end tends to jerk when straightening out. Its a pain, but soon to have that fixed.
