I seeee you... in your hatch. And your bumper. And your quarter panel. hehehe

Love the shot of the tail light, I've always thought that to be one of the most distinctive features of the V.

That spoiler is awesome, i love how it's black on the bottom so it makes it look like the rear window is even bigger. Now I want one :-\

If it wasn't for the 10+ feet of snow we get each winter, I'd love to add the spoiler to "our" car. Any place where snow and ice can accumulate is not good.

Great car, very clean, simple, beautiful. I love it.

Don't go tinting the headlights or tail-lights or adding all sorts of unnecessary stuff on it. Keep it original, make it last, and maintain it. You will love it long time.

OK... I now have to wonder why you're here.

You're a 240sx user, to the best of my knowledge you don't also own a V.

But now you're sitting here in thread after thread saying things to the effect of what you said above... don't do anything. Everything is crap.

That's a little bit of baloney coming from a 240sx owner, a car on NICO that probably has a higher percentage of modifications on their cars than any other vehicle on the forum.

That's also completely missing the point of making your car your own.

Some people here do that by leaving it alone and babying it. Some people do it by modifying or customizing. And we tend to leave that decision up to the individual, the owners here are smart enough to know on their own whether or not they want to do this.

You're more than welcome to post in this area, but if I get the feeling that you're here just to get your post count up and stir up trouble, I'd thank you to go back to your home on the 240sx board.

1 - You moderate this forum? i haven't made a single offensive comment, heck if you read the above post it says good things about this versa. i'm here b/c I am a potential versa owner in a couple of months so I am reading around. some of the otherwise cheap modifications to these cars do little to improve anything but can ruin a lot of practicality or reliability, that's what i'm telling them. give respect and get respect.

2 - you dont assume i'm trying to rack up my posts here, this is my 3rd nick on here in the last 9 years and i've only posted about 500 times total, do the math. who's counting posts? me or you?

3 - I've already said in other threads that you can do what you want with your car, but IMO things such as pinstripes and tinting windows and tinted tail lights only hurt you by getting you tickets and costing you money that you could use on a better part. to each his own though.?

4 - you are the one trying to exert your authority, which is leading to conflict, which is the exact opposite of what a moderator should do, not me, all I did was praise him for an excellent looking car that is fresh AND clean.

when you've been building and stripping cars for over a decade, you start to learn what is worth it and what isn't, a lot of these younger versa owners don't know this yet but will when they get older or more experienced driving their cars and finding their specific tastes. if me trying to reroute them towards saving some money for more beneficial modifications is causing trouble, then i apologize.

I didn't see any silver ones today, but I did see four others in the general area. I'm in the area with my boyfriend for the weekend visiting his family... maybe we'll drive by each other tomorrow...

i'll give you an example to boot:

my best friend bought a 240sx after he saw me build tons of my own. one of the first modifications he wanted to do was tint the windows. after trying to get him not to do it, he still wanted them, so i said okay and let him but advised that he get nyc legal tint so he doesn't get pulled over. he didn't listen, went and got illegal super dark limo tint on his car. two months after paying $220 for the tint on his car, he was hit with a ticket for tint on each window, a ticket for tint on the windshield, and while the cop had him pulled over, the cop told him straight out:

"every single time i see you, i will ticket you for each window on this car, until the day you get it fixed."

i hope people can live and learn the hard way or try to take some advice from others and save some headaches down the line.

in the end, my friend paid $500 for the whole tint mess and still hasn't gotten his tint removed. the only place that benefited from this was new york state and the shop that installed the tints.

Building cars for a decade, huh? You're 23. 'Nuff said.

Pinstripes and overlays are NOT mods that will affect anything, so don't worry about it. Let people do what they will, no one was looking for advice.

Thanks.

LC....had your friend gone with the legal tint then there would have been no problem. The problem wasnt the tint it was not following the law. So your example is pointless. Tinting reduces eye strain helps keep the car cooler, and has the side benefit of looking good. Tinting, along with many of the other mods, add resale value to the car.
