Hello All! I purchased my Rogue in October of 2007. I have loved it, until it was hit last November. Three months and over $30K worth of damage later (the accident was not my fault and the other guys insurance did not total my Rogue). I have decided I no longer want this specific Rogue. Of course we have to sort out the diminished value claim and the personal injury claim (it is just so great when someone else hits you and you end up spending lots time and money on things like hospital bills and returning the car to the shop for the fifteenth time), but anyway. I am debating on if I want to go ahead and get a 2010 Rogue or if I want to wait until a 2011 model is out.

Has anyone heard any of the possible changes for 2011?

I haven't heard of any changes, but I did have a question.

Sorry both you and your car got severely damaged by someone. But out of curiousity - did any of the airbags go off and did the car seem safe? The car seems to have enough airbags and what not to be safe but you never know.

Thanks/

I heard that if the airbags go off, the car is officially a write off. Is there any truth in that?

Depends. You can have an accident where the airbags go off, but the damage done to the vehicle is repairable. Once the damage exceeds approx. 70% of the pre-collision value of the vehicle, the insurance co. may write the vehicle off and pay a total loss claim.

BTW, I am no insurance expert. The facts above are from a google search...

Nissan is very tight lipped about changes to their models. If you are lucky, you might catch a bit of leaked info, but more than likely you will find out just before the new model is released. Unfortunately I do not have any 'inside scoop' so I can't offer anything more.

The Rogue is now in it's third year, and Nissan typically refreshes their models for the fourth model year. I fully expect there will be some big changes for 2011. It's everyone's guess what that will be... but here is my best kick at the can:

- Revised exterior styling... this is very typical. Usually a new hood, grille, and bumpers.- Optional Nav system. The Sentra and Versa both recieved nav systems last year, the Rogue is the odd one out.- Upgraded audio with full iPod integration, once again it's available on most other Nissan's.- Maybe some new features from other Nissan's. ie. auto headlights, accent lighting, etc.

The 2010 Qashqai (which shares the Rogue's platfrom, but is sold in the Europe) might give you a good indication where the Rogue's styling will go for 2011. Read more on Nissan Europe's website:

I wonder if the Rogue Krom offers any styling clues?

Safety wise, I think my Rogue did very well. Two airbags deployed (drivers and passenger curtain). The passenger airbag did not deploy because the seat was loaded with items that weighed in under the weight limit. With the drivers airbag, I did not get the "burn" from impact that many people talk about. During the accident, I was driving straight down a road at 30 mph and a man pulled out of a gas station and hit me. The unfortunate problem is that the insurance company and body shop estimated the damage at $15K. My car was valued at $22, so they did not total it. Then, after the body work was done, the center console, tires, rear drive train, and transmission had to be completely replaced. And...there are still lots of cosmetic repairs to be made.
