The 2.5 is an amazing car in every way but top speedI had to tracel to pa to visit my gf im from loong island, and i was on rt 80 for about 75 miles n i averaged 35.5 mpg at a speed of 67 on the cruise. On my way home today i averaged 28.6 mpg goin 80+ the whole way including in the city meaning the bridges n thats with the throgsneck closed down sittin in bumper to bumper. The car is a quick and fun car third n forht gear are amazing bc they realli make it go.

Secondly i was in pa on 309 by my school and there is an area 35 zone where its very windy and raced a Audi a4 through the turns n kept up with him to much of a surprise . the last turn i forgot it was comin n was goin a lil over 70 n hit the turn and the car stayed with me thank god lol but i love the handelin def gonna get the sway bar n lowerin kit now.

To all u 3.5's i love the 2.5 n wouldnt even think of gettin the 3.5 bc of the gas mileage this thing gets. Its so great best thing to have when the gas is so expensive like this

Haha well I agree with you... At least the parts that I can understand.

Gas mileage is crazy, especially with the CVT. I travel from San Jose to LA quite often, and I can make it all the way to Irvine using a little over 3/4 of the gas tank

175 horses isn't bad either. And for racing the Audi and turning at 70 MPH.

What RPM are you turning at 80 mph?

I think the 3.5 is tuned for power, not mileage, i.e. gear ratios, and injection map. Nissan assumes that if you want the 3.5, you want some kick when you hit the gas. They try to compensate for that by trolling around town at 1500 rpm...

I'm glad you like your 2.5, and they are different motors. I will say the 3.5 is a very satisfying motor to drive and I like the power. Where are you getting your MPG from? Not the dashboard I hope. I can get pretty good mileage too if I keep it at 70 mph or below...

Ill answer here since he didnt haha. 80mph = ~ 2600rpm depending on what kind of mood the CVT is in haha. as for the dash MPG statement.. Ive checked its accuracy with every tank Ive run through the car so far, and it is always correct at the end of the tank (or whenever I fill back up and calculate it)

my 3.5 gets 28 MPG while cruising between 75-80. I made it from the eastern end of long island NY, to raleigh NC in one tank of gas.
