Lound and Excessive drone - Z1 Axle back Exhaust

93 300zx NA. I bought and installed the Z1 2.5 inch axle back exhaust and it is pretty loud inside car and the drone is significant. I purchased the car about 8 months ago and as far as I know and can tell, it is stock. Spoke with customer service from Z1 and weren't much help. Basically said, there's something not stock about your car. What can I look at to minimize the noise and drone inside car. TIA

That's a lot of exhaust for a 3-liter N/A engine.

Basically, it's too big (like a Honda Civic with a fartcannon).

Without getting into the actual mechanics of why, the answer is: Go back to a properly-sized exhaust, apply a lot of sound deadening to the unibody of the car, or learn to like it.

Anything else you do is just going to sap even more power.
