hellooo everyone! i have a question; is there a way to make my exhaust note louder than it is? i have a cold air intake, so its really loud up front, but over in the back, there is no noise hardly, and i want that to change, because i love the deep, beautiful tone of the ka24de.

there is only one catch though. i dont want to spend very much money. max maybe 50 dollars or so. also, i dont want it to sound like a buzzing beehive honda CRX smoking beater, and i dont want to lose power. basically, what can i do to the resonator(s) to make it louder. not deeper, just louder. AND STREET LEGAL! i dont wanna deal with a 175 dollar sticker every year, and the risk of bein thrown in the slammer for an illegal sticker.

i guess maybe there are 3 catches...well 4...maybe even 5, but anyway, point being, CAN THIS BE DONE??????

im bored and feel like making my car sound better. help plz plz plz

thanks.

Hum... this is an odd request, usually people request for hp, but you want noise? and for 50 bucks? Well u have two options.

Option A)Go on ebay, buy a test pipe. 50 bucks shipped

Option B)

How well can you work with spark plugs? If you can set the gap just right you can alternate your noise. I've read of guru's doing this but I dont' suggest to try this. Try option A first

P.SGet headers, exhaust and test pipe for more "noise" save up your pennies!

hehe, i was looking into that, BUT! i was kinda thinking things more along the lines of stuff i could do to my exhaust internals. stuff like, removing baffles (are there any? maybe stuff like insulation but i dont *think* there are baffles.) gutting resonators (is there even anything in a resonator to gut??) or just taking out a resonator and replacing it with a pipe of equal length? my girlfriends dad works in a machine shop, said he'd fab, make flanges, and weld everything for 20 dolla JUST FO ME!

anyway, things i could do along those lines.

lol, what about removing the first resonator (to my memory, there are 2...or at least a resonator and then the "muffler") and letting the muffler just hang there? it would totally fool the inspectors lol. they'd hook everything up to my tailpipe and be like 'hmm, your readings are perfect! congratulations! you win the prize!" which would be a sticker.

anyway yeah i havent slept in 24 hours so im sounding a little delusional.

remove the stock resonator, have a muffler shop weld a pipe were the resonator used to be

a test pipe is somthing used in place of the catalictic converter, if you put one in, you will not pass emisions and it is also illegal to remove the cat, so i dont recomend it

edit: or the machine shop will work too for welding that piece in

actually the test pipe removes the FAKE catalitic converter, and if you are running a stock exhaust you will pass emissions. Nissan was funny like that, when i installed my exhaust and my header I noticed..why do i have two catalitic converters? One is a fake and that is where the test pipe comes in, it replaces the fake cat. On ebay i saw two generic test pipes for 50 shipped. if u want to spend $100 get Projectsilvia. ...nice pipe.

getting a louder exhaust note is capable with a muffler... but let me warn you...the 240 with a KA almost sounds enraged.... which i personally like myself...HAHAHA.... LOUD and deep...and when you step on it...is when it gets even more obnoxious...but its a good obnoxious...SOMETIMES! get a magnaflow...with no resignator and you will almost regret how noisy it can be...

What up all ... I am new here. I have been reading the forums for about the last 3 months. Just bought my 90' s13 on thrusday.

I have a muffler that is too loud for my taste on my car. It is a 2.5" pipe/muffle. I Wish you lived closer. I would have traded you for the stock catback setup.

Is there anyone In upstate NY looking to do a trade?

Save up your money and get an apex-i N1. The three inch catback sounds nasty on the KA. In my opinion removing resontors or just adding a muffler makes your car sound exactly how you do not want it. DO IT RIGHT, also get some nice hp gaind in the upper rpms.

if you dont car about power but want a good sounding muffler then get a supertrap from summit or somewhere. they are adjustable/tunable to change the sound.

kuruma, ill trade you, AND ill pay for shipping! all im gonna ask of you is to take pictures of the exhauste system so i can see what kind of flanges it has. also, when you get high in the revvs, does it start buzzing, or is it real consistant? i like to put my engine high up there, so i kinda need to know. thanks.

HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON!

oh yeah also approximately how much does an aftermarket exhaust weigh?

oh, PM me with an answer thanks.
