loud ticking noise

My car just started to tick loudly a couple of days ago and along with that, the acceleration has been acting funny also. The engine has to work very hard to speed up and I ma having trouble trying to figure out what the heck is going on, what I should do, what to repair, and what part of the car needs repair. Does anybody have any advice or anyway to help me out? I would appreciate it!

Ticking and poor performance are never good.

Have a shop look at it. It could be a simple headgasket issue or it could be much more serious. It's tough to diagnose based on those symptoms from here.

Sounds like the lifters.....

i had the same thing happen on my 240sx but it was much worse. spun a rod bearing =/ (RIP 240)
