First off, thanks for all tech info and crosstalk that happens on this site. With that being said...I just traded in my M35x for a used 2012 M35h with 65k on the odometer. While driving it home from the dealership today I noticed a strange noise coming from the rear while braking. I was able to duplicate the noise several times while driving but it’s not consistent. It’s a loud thump under hard deceleration. I crawled underneath the car when I got it home and took a look at the rear suspension, exhaust, axle and brake assemblies and nothing seems worn or loose. I ask the dealership for a maintenance history report and the previous owner reported the same noise at 45k miles. The dealership states they lubed the rear axle and couldn’t duplicate the noise. The Infiniti bulletin they accomplished was for cars that had a clicking noise while accelerating, this car has a thump noise while decelerating. Anybody experiencing the same issue with your M? If so, what caused and fixed your issue? My plan is to take it back to the dealership but it’s a 3 hour trip (one way). If it’s something that has been fixed before on this site I’d like to try fixing it myself before hauling it back to the dealer.
Thanks again for any assistance you can provide,
Thaddeus
