loud tapping noise

i just got the car for a guy and said it needed a valve job. so i get it and have the head and valve jobs done. install the head put the timeinng chain on then start it up it still make a very loud tapping noise it come from the back. but i notice that when i move the gear on the chain it taps in another place. its really loud. and it goes with the reving. the looks like it is intact as well.

i just put and new set of timing chain. and guides. but still have the loud *** tapping noise. i lined up the silver links with each other but still it makes the tapping sound.

Even if you lined up the silver links it doesn't mean that your cams were held in place while changing the chain. One or both of your cams may be off time, causing the tapping.

so how do you put it back in place. do i turn the cam shaft another 360 degree?

if all your timing marks on your chain match the dots on the gears your lined up correctly but if you altered from that and ran the car you could of tagged a valve. after having the valve job done you didnt happen to set the head down on something in the upright position did you? you could of bent a valve doing so. you could also posibly have a collapsed lifter.
