Hey All, back at it again lol.

Lately I have been getting a super loud squealing noise by the radiator area when I first turn on the car. As you can see in the video below the sound doesnt last too long but is annoying. Any suggestions on what this can be?

Thanks see vid below...

I too get that noise. I believe it's been discussed here that it could be either the accessory belt tensioner bearings or the alternator. It only comes around in the cold so I'm not bothering to fix it until it begins to squeal like that for a long time.

I myself noticed it comes out on really cold days. I have to get this noise removed as I feel a luxury should not be sounding like that this lol.

I never heard that noise before. That noise would get me really annoyed. I would have had it at the dealer the same day saying just get rid of the noise :gapteeth:

For a short term fix, go to your favorite auto supply store and get a can of belt dressing. Costs about a buck fifty.

The squealing may not be the belts. In my case my belts are about 6 months old and the squealing is not the typical belt squealing more a higher pitched squeal. Sounds more like a bad bearing.

msvara, if it was a bad bearing, wouldn't it be making that noise all the time? Its only for a few seconds once the engine starts for the first time in the day. The noise also sounds like it was coming from the radiator area and a not near the belts. I actually had a small chirping sound coming from my belts and sprayed some belt lube a few weeks back and took care of that issue.

Hmm the only thing close to the rad as a moving part are the fans. One of them could be going bad. You're probably right It may not necessarily be the bearing but the shaft that it rotates on. If it's worn down a bit it could be squeaking until the metal heats up and expands then no more noise.
