have you had any work done to your steering pump, AC compressor, or alternator?, or have you changed your belts recently?.......i happened to me when i changed the alternator, the sound came from the alternator belt, i tightened the belt and the problem never came back......
i would tighten the belts first before i start spending money, and if the belts are old, replace them, they are a good safety as the winter is closing in.....
there is only one tensioner for the fan belts, it is the AC tensioner, at the bottom of the engine, if it is moving up and down (up and down in the slot), then it just needs to be tightened, however, if it moves in and out of it's socket, then replace it asap as that could cause further damage (but first check if the nut that holds the pulley to the slot is tightened), you can grab one from a scrap yard for the 300zx engines (90-96 TT or NA, the both have that exact part)
the belts are usually tightened twice, according to the service manual, when replacing fan belts, tighten everything, and expect one of them to loosen a little, which is diagnosed by a sound at start-up (just as you are discribing), then tighten that belt again so it wont make that noise anymore...... by the way, i've heard a lot of stories similar to this and the answer was that the power steering fluid was low, i'd suggest that you check that as well..... i hope this helps, good luck
