When weather is hot and car is not running the radio if left on from previous run, emits a really scarey loud tone until the ac has cooled down the interior.

Car is a 1995 Maxima GLE with auto climate control. Car has 195,000 mi and every thing works except the clock display.

Any one know what this means besides it's hot out?

Edited because: Realized this was out of context

Sounds like your radio came from up north.

Is it a Bose system? I think they have external amps. I'm guessing one of them is dying on you.

Maybe something is expanding and grounding to the frame of the car, causing direct voltage into the speaker coils.

The horn on my old 240sx used to go off when it got real hot inside the car because the metal in the pad expanded from heat...

To Hannibal : Where are the amps and can they be replaced?

If you have the Bose sound system, the amps are attached to each speaker. You have to remove the speaker, unplug the amp, and send it to a shop for rebuilding or find replacements.

Or you can replace your entire sound system with an aftermarket one.
