Loud Popping Noise On Hard Right Turns

There is an awful loud pop or two when i turn hard rights and accelerate. The sound is from the front of the car and im thinking its the tie rods or something like that. My passenger side tie rod boot has been cut for a while so that may narrow the possibilities down. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing the popping sound? Car-90 240sx. Thanks in advance.

friend just walked in and informed me that another friends s14's ball joints were out and it made a similar noise. could be this. or another suggestion is shock mounts?

great point. my shockmounts are pretty rusted that may be the problem.

could be your tension rods too

I would inspect the upper rubber hats on the shocks. If they crack, you get all sorts of pops and groans!
