it improves performance because it flows better (the muffler is restricting the "pops", thus restricting performance), your "exhaust" pops (actually the motor causes the sound) because it is still restricted. if you ran off the manifold you wouldn't even hear any pops. maybe some cause the stock manifold is quite restrictive. so basically the "pops" you hear is the restiction of the exhaustGTS wrote:does this popping sound hurt/improve performance in anyway at all?
