Loud Noise When Reverse and Turning Wheel

Kinda hard to explain, but I only notice this groaning noise when going in reverse adn I have the wheel turned. Any ideas?

Need more info. Where does the sound seem like its comeing from. The transmission or rearend or what? So in reverse with the wheel straight it does not make the sound? And it does not make the sound in a foward gear even when turning in a circle in a parking lot? Have you gone to a parking lot and turned your wheel while in reverse and while your still in reverse you take it out of gear to see if its transmission related?

Ok, sound ONLY happens in reverse AND when turning the wheel. Seems to be comming from the front (mabye engine bay). I just noticed it when I backed into my driveway for the first time just now.

Hmmmmmmm??? Maybe power steering. But sounds like reverse on the transmission, but only when wheel is turned. You might want someone there to help you locate the noise. Someone outside the car.

I will try all of this later in the week! Damn rain...GRRRRRR Thanks for the ideas guys! If it is the transmission, I really don't care. This one needs to last till December when one from the land of the rising sun will be replacing it;)

Ok, had my roomie listen as I drove around, Aparently, the noise happens ANY time I turn the wheel and even when sitting still but it is quieter. So my guess is some ailment w/ the PS pump. Any thoughts on remedies? I had manual steering on my old FC3S so I think if I need a new pump, I could chunk the pump and lines and go manual.....

Ok, so I just opened up my PS fluid resivour and IT WAS EMPTY! How bad is this? I am going to go fill it tomorrow, but what are the chances that permanant has been done?
