I have an 04 G35 sedan with around 69K miles. The other day I turned my heat on and when I turned the fan on about half way it started making a really loud noise and my steering wheel started to vibrate pretty hard. It sounds like a broken jet engine taking off inside my dash. If I have it on low barely blowing out air it doesn't make any noise and seems to work fine. Once i start turning it up it starts vibrating harder and getting loader. It doesn't matter what setting i have it blowing through the vents or if i'm moving or not. I also can't really hear anything under the hood that sounds different and it mainly sound like its coming from under the passenger-side dash area...Does anyone have any ideas what this could be or how to fix it???

I think it's completely unrelated but about a week b4 that i hit a curb and had to get an allignment done on my steering... thats the only thing I can think of. Thanks for any suggestions!

There is probably an issue with the blower motor, since its located in the passenger footwell.

I had a similar problem when I used an aftermarket cabin filter. After a few weeks after the cabin filter replacement the noise began. When I called the dealer service they told me to check the filter. Sure enough I replaced the Purolator cabin filter with one from Infiniti parts. No more problem. No more aftermarket cabin filters either.

When is the last time your cabin filter was changed? If never you are going to be surprised what you find in there.

Thanks so much for the replies guys. I'm going to check the blower motor and now the micro filter tonight if I get some time.

I just had a 60k or 65k inspection at the dealer. They cleaned the injectors, changed all fluids, "inspected" everything, and I thought changed all the filters throughout the entire car. But maybe i'm mistaken. So hopefully thats all it is and nothing to bad or expensive.

And these forums are fantastic too! I cant believe how much info is on these things and how helpful everyone is! I can't wait to gain enough knowledge to start sharing with others!

Thanks Again
