loud Intake Sucking = Vacuum Leak?

Hi,

I have a '91 240sx with a K&N cone filter. I'm having trouble diagnosing a problem with a hesitation and I read in a post that if your intake (cone filter?) makes a loud sucking noise, you may have a vacuum leak. Is this correct? By the way I get 20inHg vacuum at idle and it's pretty solid.

nope. a vac leak is a leak somewhere after the maf. all intakes make sucking noises. even the stock one if you unlatch the air filter.

My K&N makes the same noise. It's perfectly normal.
