Ok so I just bought my 91' 240sx w/ 101K KA24DE. The injectors tick pretty loud...kind of sounds like a diesel...lol. It's kind of annoying and sounds kind of junky. It did run a bit rough when I got it last week so I put some new NGK platinum plugs in it and it runs and idles better but that injector tick bothers me. Any suggestions?

Oil level was good and oil was clean as of a few days ago. It has always done the ticking since I got it a week ago. It doesn't sound like a valve tick. I'm pretty sure its my injectors. If I lean over the intake manifold side of the engine bay it's right there at the injectors and seems to move around like the firing order. I COULD be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's the injectors.

I hear that injector tick is common on the SR20.

I think I've seen yall. There are only a handfull of nice 240s in the Boro. We should have a little get together sometime or something. Mine is a stock KA24DE with an autobox so it ain't sh*t but it's clean. Exhaust, springs, wheels soon....

All I know to do is keep putting premium in it and I'll run a bottle of Lucas fuel system cleaner in a tank and change the oil. Any suggestions on experience with certain oils and/or stabilizers?

Its probably a lifter ticking, not an injector, if it is, you should go with a solid lifter set-up.

Nah....I'm pretty sure it's injectors. If I face the intake mani side of the motor I can hear the ticking move around (firing order)

Ok so I'm a huge idiot. It is valve tick. Maybe I thought it was injectors because I've never owned a OHC or a 4 banger for that matter. Any tips? My only idea is change the oil. I know this doesn't have much to do with it but I seafoamed it yesterday and it didn't smoke. Maybe it didn't really get in there because the booster vac line feeds into the low end of the intake manifold.

Ok, so here is what you are going to want to do. First, take the head off the car, then get some solid lifter, new cams, and new valves. Then get your head polished and ported, as well as resurfaced. Or you could just get new stock valves and lifters.
