Hey Guys,

Well i just purchaced a used 2002 qx4 a couple of days ago and I am Lovin it.

However, one problem I have noticed is the heater likes to scream like a banchie sometimes. It seems to be when its a cold start. All 4 speeds work fine, but on the lowest speed it makes a slight squeeking/rattling noise, and on the higher speeds it can scream and wine sooo Loud!

Im a DIY kinda guy so i need to know which part needs replacing so i can fix it asap! Or make just some lube would do the trick? Who knows!

Anyone else with this problem that could guide me in the right direction? I like to stay away from stealerships if possible!

Thanks !

Brian

First congrats on the qx4.

I have a pathfinder and it should be pretty similar to you qx4. What I would suggest first is to remove the blower fan so you can test it outside of the enclosure to make sure the fan is causing the squealing and not just a loose screw thats making it spin on its side. If you cant access it properly than your going to have to remove your glove box and the rest of the passenger enclosure. The blower motor is located to the far right of the passenger side and its held in the enclosure by three screws. so once out just try it on the different speeds if it squeals it probably needs a little lube or something.

good luck

I have some pics but my real computer isn't operating right now
