Is it me or do the M35s have loud engines while driving and rev pretty high. I have the base sedan if that matters

I drive an 07 M, so we have the same engine. I'm not sure what you mean by "high revs". Are the revs high compared to ... other M's? compared to other brands of cars? or do you suspect they are high compared to what is 'expected' from a V6 24v engine?
All I can tell you is what my M does. At idle, revs are about 700. At 40 mph, revs are about 1,500 ... at 75 mph, revs increase to about 3,000. But that is FL driving - mostly flat smooth roads with no steep inclines, etc. But here's what's interesting: Those figures are with cruise control switched ON. Driving with your foot, the revs will always be higher, because we can't manually maintain speed with the least amount of pedal pressure and fuel - as does the Cruise Control.

Cabin noise: Infiniti has never been known for quiet cabins. Mind you, they are very well built, but little or no sound deadening is included in the process. Most reviews of the M will mention that the cabin is a little more noisy than expected, but not "loud". The M cabin seems more susceptible to noises from tires and road surface depending on the quality and brand of tire you ride on.

Engine noise: When I am stopped at a traffic signal, I don't notice any engine noise or vibration. It seems as if the engine is switched OFF. At motorway speeds above 65 mph, there is noticeable engine / exhaust / wind / road noise but not what I consider to be loud or intrusive. The radio covers it pretty well.

Hope this helps

If I remember correctly, it has been done. It's unbelievably expensive if done at the dealer. The NAV system for our years uses a DVD / blue tooth unit mounted inside the glove box. That unit connects to the multi-switch panel just below the screen in the center stack. You would need to buy the NAV glove box unit and you will also need to buy the version of the multi-switch panel that is equipped with the necessary controls for NAV. Once you install the NAV unit and the upgraded milti-switch panel, I think it's just a matter of connecting to the existing harnesses already behind the dash. You may also need to buy and install the shark fin antenna on the roof too. Seems like lots of work and I reckon the Nav unit and multi-switch panel are not cheap even if purchased used.
If you car doesn't have NAV, I would probably just go with a high quality after market model like TomTom. My fiance's car doesn't have NAV and I installed a TomTom VIA unit. It works brilliantly and has a 6" screen, lifetime map updates, and lifetime traffic updates.

If you really want to try to install the factory version, use the search box on the main page and see what you can find under NAV or navigation.

I don't have the fin but I do have factory NAV. I thought the fin was for satellite radio which i do not have.

The fin also contains the GPS antenna ... necessary for navigation.

The GPS antenna is under the front center speaker grille. One user having problems moved it and posted pictures, but this was years ago (2009?) and could have been the ex-member who shall not be named.

And this is today's new thing I learned. Thanks! I always thought shark fins were only for GPS and / or NAV.

In some of the car companies that I work with (work related), the shark fin often contains a hybrid antenna that has a satellite, GPS and cellular antenna in the enclosure.
