When I get in and (more noticeably) out of my car, there is a loud a$$ creaking sound... Imagine the sound if a 500 lb dood just stood up from sitting in your driver's seat, and the car groaned in return. Well that's what happens every time I get out of my car, and I'm a light guy,,,,,,, my theory is that it has to do w/ the stiff suspension of the car combined w/ the fairly cold weather of recent.

I thought it might be that I always park on a hill and pull the e-brake, which might also add 'tension' of sorts to the car's frame.

Anyone else notice a similar sound?

thx

It could possibly be that ebrake being on and being on an incline as you stated. Only the rear brakes are applied with the ebrake and it could be them groaning with the weight transfer.

I have the same sound. I'm not too concerned about it though.

My gf lives in a gated community and the only parking is usually on her short driveway which is at a steep angle. So I usually have to park on the driveway. After I put it in park and I pull on the parking break and take my foot OFF the break pedal, I hear that sound. It's probably the same for you because you park on a hill.

I've been hearing the same sound on my coupe as well, i park primarilly on a flat surface. I'm pretty sure its the tight suspension didn't hear the sound during the summer in the warmer weather now thats its cold more than ever.

Yup, I have the same sound with my p-brake. I noticed if you push it in ALL the way, it doesn't make that sound. But, I only do that when I'm on a hill; otherwise, I just push it in just enough.

Only makes that sound when the parking brake is engaged. I had that problem too and I couldnt figure out what it was until one day I did'nt put the parking brake on....then I was like....OOOOHHH.....thankgod.
