Loud back fire

Well..I was sitting in the Walmart parking lot and cranked my truck and I heard this BOOM! and was told a flame shot out of my tail pipe.. needless to say I had to tow it home because the backfire killed the truck and it wouldn't start again... Any ideas? oh Someone stole my catalytic converter too.. not the best of days today

I saw this happen on a 93 HB. What happened there was by cranking the truck the muffler filled with gas fumes. One cylinder caught igniting everything in the exhaust system. The muffler turned into a grenade.

someone stole your cat lol.... people will do anything for money these days

i get a lot of 'popping' in my truck with my straight through exhaust and slightly rich tune... but no actual backfiring

It's a shame... and Rev my muffler is now wide open... So I just straight piped it
