Hey guys I just recently got my SR dropped in and its up and running...Its currently a stock setup with just the basics replaced, and a Megan downpipe. Well I was driving it to work this morning and I was in first gear going uphill and I shifted to 2nd gear at around 5k RPM. Now 1st and 2nd when the car is pulling the motor is making a loud kind of vacuum noise. This only happens in like 1st and 2nd, anything after that it sounds fine. Possibly a leak somewhere?...Any help would be great. I am also running a FMIC and greddy BOV. Thanks guys.

are you sure you are not hearing the turbo whistle?

You can pressurize your IC piping to see if you have any leaks.

Its very difficult for us to tell us what type of leak there is from our keyboards...

you dont here the noise when your car is idling? only 1st and 2nd gear? and speaking of idling is the engine idling fine? if its idling fine and not loosing power then it probably is the turbo.

The idle is sputtering now..and then it will die out...I am still hearing the turbo whistle, and it is getting pressure, but it feels like it lost some of the pressure

No the car isnt misfiring at all...as for leaks i just checked everything doesnt seem like a leak to me...The sound is almost like a whirrrrrrrrr sound...but everything is checking out ok....turbo is still spooling, The sound does go away once the car is started from a cold start. But once I drive it for a like 40 min and im in the lower gears and going through the rpm range the sound comes back..This is when the engine is already hot......still looking into this problem. any more infor would be much appreciated..

I know the Apexi air filter has a tendency to make a loud sucking sound at spool up. Took me a while to figure that one out.
