One person from Washington and one from Idaho matched the numbers for the Mega Millions jackpot. They get to split $380 million.

http://www.examiner.com/lottery-in-nati ... with-idaho

That's $190 million each if they split it up over 26 years, or about $90 million if they take the lump sum ($81 million for the Idaho winner. They will have to pay state income tax on their earnings, the WA winner does not). What in the world would you do with that much money? Would you go crazy and blow it all or would you save it?

Keep it a secret. Hire a lawyer and claim the money anonymously. Pretend like I landed a really good job and then build my own business to make it seem like I've earned all that money. Then keep living my life and not be bothered by all my "new" family and friends for cash.

....guess I've put some thought into this one....

Have a home built in a nice city somewhere and a cabin up in Big Bear. The rest of the money will just be used slowly through out the rest of my life, mainly on vacations and stuff. Pretty simple.

i would help out my friends and family, donate some to the local high schools for their vocational and music programs, buy a nice house, build a sweet shop with enough room to have my cars and a few cnc machines.

IZ THE GREATEST IDEA EVAR!!!!

But seriously, we could probably land that gig, seeing the quality of reality TV they are putting out.

I'd put half the winnings in a high yield savings account. Buy fancy crap with a quarter, and invest the remainder on volatile stocks, since I have money to play with at that point, and volatility means either big gains or big losses.

I had this discussion with my family. After each immediate family member spends $100K on whatever they want, the rest pretty much gets invested. I'd probably upgrade the family vehicles, do more track events, and go on nicer family vacations, but I don't see all that much changing.

First Id be pissed that I started with 190 million and it dropped by more than half to ~80-90 million before I even touch it. Then I would spend it.. obviously

Cars, house, travel the world, all the old cliches. I would be careful and not go too crazy though, the lottery is a curse you know

I'd break off a piece of all of my family members( family is both really close friends, and blood). Half of what's left, I'd splurge. Utterly spurge my money EVERYWHERE!

^ That kinda gives you an idea of what would happen with that half of the money.

The rest, I'd save and invest so I would never have to work again for the rest of my life. Maybe buy a few gold or platinum bars.

All I really want is a [paid for] house out in the woods with a two-car garage, and I'd be happy for the rest of my days.

Oh yeah, it has to have a lift suitable for a truck, tho. ;)

I would take the payments :D so I could control my car spending habit

I would seriously drop like 5 mil on cars. Other than buying a house and taking some trips, I really dont know. Im sure I would give some to my church

EDIT: would also give all of my aunts/uncles like a million

Accept the lump sum off the radar through a lawyer.

Set my mom up in a nice beachfront house with a chunk of change in a bank account and a basket of solid dividend paying stocks. Buy her that Jag E type she alyays wanted and nice DD.

Pay off my house over here and hand the keys to my mother and sister in law.

Add to the gold and silver stack.

Move to Switzerland

Build a nice chalet:
Huge garage with chassis dyno a lift and tons of room to store parts.
Indoor shooting range with a fully stocked armory.
Indoor pool with water slide from bedroom.
Living room with a cathedral ceiling and a turntable to park my RS on.
Huge two story library.
Game room with a pool table and vintage cabinet video games.
Gourmet kitchen a professional chef would appreciate.
Huge master bedroom with glass ceiling so I can look at the sky before I pass out.

Get my wife her Mini Cooper.
Fully restore my Skyline.
Before leaving Japan pick up an R34 GT-R to DD.
Shoot down to Italy and have Lamborghini build me a Gallardo Spyder in neon pink.
Build my new 68' big block Camaro.

Invest in some clubs to generate revenue and keep me busy.
Keep playing the market.

PWN newbs on NIco every night.

I'd take payments. 190/26 = 7.3 mil a year. not a bad salary. Id also keep my current job, but cut it back to 3 days a week. Once a year Id take a nice long month long road trip somewhere in my RV with a group of buddy and see all kind of cool s***.

That's only if you take the lump sum payment. If you take the annual installments, you get the whole $190 million.
