basically i just got paid and want to dump my paycheck into maintenance for my car. I just wanted to make sure i spend it wisely and just have a few questions for you guys so here it goes.

1. can someone please post a picture of their hatch light because there's no light in mine and i am not sure if its supposed to have a housing or anything. 2. i want to spend most or all of the money into engine maintenance so here's the list i got going so far:-radiator cap-fuel cap-air filter-oil filter-fuel filter-oil change-trany fluid change

but i was doing some reading and came across this list of things i should change

-fuel rail flush-thermastat-Replace Idler Pully-transmission filter -replace belts

I am not really sure on how to do any of those things so some input would be appreciated.

i already changed my battery and fuel pump so if there's anything else you think i should tackle please let me know.

oh and also i was going to get a stock air filter but i thought about getting a cone filter but i believe i need some sort of adapter for it thoughts?

thanks a lot guys.

There are lots of things you can do that fall under the maintenance category. I don't know you've already done and how much you want to do. Here are some things to consider:

Air Filter - Genuine OEMFuel filter - Genuine OEMOil Filter - Mobil 1 from Joe $6.50 or OEM

Transmission Service Kit - From Joe for $58.88 Transmission Cooler - (I have the B&M Supercooler 70268)

Engine Oil - Your choice ( I use Mobil 1 synthetic)Transmission Fluid - Your choice ( I use Mobil 1 synthetic)Power Steering Fluid - Your Choice ( I use Mobil 1 synthetic)Gear Oil - Your Choice (I use AGIP Rotra LSX 100% Synthetic SAE 75W90 API-GL5)Brake Fluid - Your Choice (I use Valvoline SynPower Synthetic Brake Fluid)Coolant - I use Genuine Nissan with Distilled Water

BG Quick Clean for Automatic Transmissions BG ATC Plus

BG Quick Clean for Power Steering BG Power Steering Conditioner

BG Quick Clean (For engine)BG Quick MOA (For engine)

BG Cooling System Flush BG Supplemental Coolant Additive

BG Fuel Injection System Flush

ThermostatThermostat CapRadiator CapSpark PlugsBeltsIdler Pulley Bearings

I have all fluids flushed by a local BG dealer. All other maintenance is performed by my mechanic, so I'm not much help for input on how to do things. Some of the other guys will be able to help you out more in that department.

Second Lino's suggestion. Not to worry, but the slightly higher capicity B&M cooler is the 70264, but I think only one person has mounted it behind the condenser and in front of the radiator. Mine is where the active pump is.

Don't forget the foam blocks on the radiator, especially if you pull it. There is also a rubber lip on the bottom. All are necessary to force air through the radiator without back flow.

Do not neglect the PS fluid, expecially if you go to a BG shop.

On the transmission, I have run across a couple of BG shops who will not drop the pan and repalce the internal filter, so ask first and detail the service you want. External ATF filter replacement should also be considered.

Read the prevoius posts!

BG Quick Clean in the crankcase is immediately before oil drain for 15 minutes. BG fuel rail flush is different from intake fogging. each has its purpose. Change all filters and fluids about which you do not know. Use synthetic 75W-140 in differential.

M1 10W-30 and 0W-40 work great. I run a qt. or two of 15W-50 M1 when it is over 100° F like now.
