So my 96 I30 is in need of some help.

My Pin? front passenger side wheel is bent. I think its the pin. I'm not sure what to do about it. The shop that I took it to for alignment said that even with the camber adjusters that I have on there, they can only set the camber on that wheel to -1.7 degrees. The Drivers side is at 1.2 (stupid camber adjusters. I'll be getting new ones soon). They recommended taking the car to a body shop and having them heat and bend my pin straight. Is that ok? How hard would it be to replace it?

Second problem is one of the bolts on the strut tower. I installed a tower brace last night and when torquing the bolt, it broke off. It was set to 80lbs when I took it off and I set the torque wrench to 70 when I was torquing it but it broke, so I'm not sure what has to be replaced and how hard it is to replace

Third problem is that my check engine light is on and I'm not sure what to do. The dealership (way back when I still took my car there) said that it was my EGR system, but when I took it back, they said the diagnostic came back negative. The light is still on and my gas mileage is ehh. I've replaced 2 out of the three O2 sensors in the past year. Any ideas on what it could be or how to find out?

Last question. I've been told and read that the Maximas and I30 for my year (96) were very similar. What parts are the same and which ones aren't? Can I use maxima headlights? How about cold air intake piping?

Any help would be great. Thank you

1. Not quite sure what the shop is calling the pin. Maybe you could take them a picture and have them point it out to you.

2. As for the bolt on the strut tower, you will need to replace the front strut mounting isolator bracket. You will have to compress the spring and disassemble the strut assembly to replace it.

3. If you have an Autozone, you can have them check it for free. Also check this thread for instructions on how to do it yourself, and code meanings.

4. All the mechanicals are the same, just the body is different. I don't think you can use Max headlights, but any CAI for a Max should fit your I30.
