I removed my rear wing cuz the body shop put it on wrong. I'm gunna replace it, but they put lots of hairline scratchesaround it putting it on, and I put a few on the trunk getting the goo off. I don't want to be able to see those when I replace the wing.

What is the best thing to do with the hairline scratches. If I go to a detail shop they usually buff them out, but I dontwanna pay the 100 bucks for them to do it.

If I got a buffer, what should I get, Rotary or Side to side....and is it recommended to do this, or should I just pay to have it done.

Porter Cable 7424. It's a random orbit buffer <--- less risky on delicate car finishes!

definately get a random orbital, leave rotary and those others alone they will burn the paint and possibly scratch the hell out of it.

Completely agree about random-orbit polishers for your whole car but if you're just looking to fix a few light scratches one time, Nu-Finish Scratch Doctor. Comes in an orange bottle sold at your popular auto parts store. Just read the directions and use a damp rag.

edit: even Walgreens sells it.http://www.walgreens.com/store...01711#

The PC 7424 with a good glaze or polish will get it silky smooth again.

It's new and the Moderator checks in as often as he can. There are a lot of forums available on the NICO Main Forums that most Altima guys don't really know about unless they click a link. The menu at the top has a lot of valid content as well.

Meguiars G110. Basically an upgraded porter cable - it's a Dual Action polisher (DA) so it mimics the motion of hand polishing, but at the pace of a rotary. Don't mess with a rotary until you've gotten one of these. I have one and use it with the polishing and finishing 2.0 pads (never use the cutting pad with the DA), and I couldn't be happier

I got mine from here, which is where all the guys on the Meguairs Online forums (more detailing information than you could ever imagine) get their stuff: http://www.autodetailingsolutions.com/
