That sentence could be interpreted in many ways.

I hate the statement "The 240sx is turning into the next Civic" It's complete BS mostly because they dont make our cars anymore. Also they are really freaking old for the most part. Most ricers simply cant keep them running.

I'd say the relatively low production numbers and short run of the 240SX will keep it from becoming the ubiquitous tuner car. Anyway, as I see it more exposure means more good stuff from the aftermarket. Bring it on!

This extra attention is good and bad in a few ways. Good for the aftermarket currently and selling a 240. Bad for inflation on used parts and cars if you are looking to buy. It happens.

Seems hard to sell these cars lately, though.

I kind of hope it does, but then again I kind of hope it doesnt. On one aspect, it would theoretically make the value of my car increase, but on the other hand that would probably just result in more being stolen.

Also, I definately don't want to see any 240's going around my town with underbody and windshield wiper lights.

One big side effect is that more and more punk kids will get them because they're dirty cheap, the whole drifting scene, and now they're becoming cool. Thus you'll see a bunch riced out, poorly modded, and wrapped around telephone poles.

But what can you do? I see more and more riced out Z's on autotrader and ebay everyday. As any car becomes more affordable it becomes fair game for ricers Not trying to sound like some elitist but its sad. So yeah there is a little truth that with kids, I deal with lots, they're all like "yo Im gonna build me a drift 240, they're the hotness!!" So yeah its kinda like it was with civics a few years back.

Ok I'm done rambling on lol.

Personally, I wouldn't really mind (although would prefer not to) seeing ricey versions of my car all over town, only cause it'd make mine look better.

On the other hand, the less rice the better.

I think its party b/c people are inflateing their selling price due to their popularity, their was a guy that has an auto 90 S13 that I dont believe ran, he wanted like 3 or 4 for it... then that hurricane storm came and flooded pittsburgh, it was washed the car two blocks down the road and was full of mud and he still wanted the same price for it

they do hold there value, and for someone who knows what they can be used for (all of us know) it will. in his case tho thats prolly cause he was tryin to get money for any damages he received from that storm... just a thought.

my 240sx with no motor transmission was about a G, but the guy i bought it from knew why i wanted it.

Yes, the value is way inflated for S13 Coupes, from my personal experience. Just bought the 1993 at 130k miles in my sig for $3400+995 for a two year warantee... Just couldn't say no, cause it runs so damn good.

And yes, I did get the warantee even though I plan on doing a swap sometime next year.

on the price subject.....my buddy josh (NSR S13) got his 91 240sx SE coupe for 550 bucks. Granted it needs some lovin on the body but damn, for the car, you can't beat that price.
