Do you have any other mods? Chances are the integra will pull on you. You have more torque though, so you should have done a bit better than that. Practice will certainly help. What rpm were you at when the car started to hesitate? Could you have been hitting the rev limiter and not realize it?

when willa LS pull on a 240 ??maybe a GSR, not a LS (at least, unless you're doing highway top speed runs???), you're rpobably in need of a tune up(car and driver both maybe lol)

sounds a lot like the hesitataion that plagues many kas at low rpms. On mine, it starts bogging a little around 2k but clears up by the low 3k range. Many people have fixed this with a good seafoam treatment, I am planning on doing one soon. Also I know that the mafs can cause strange crap like this. I have an aftermarket intake and cone filter that will never stay tight, and when it falls off the car runs like ****, but it reminds me of the bogging... maybe the intake is causing too much turbulence for the maf, or mine needs a cleaning...

What you mean it won't stay tight? Surely you can go get a clamp and prevent this. My friend in his civic raced with his intake off(no filter what so over) He was hauling *** and pulled up behind me and shifted.Sounded like he had turbo. He raced abotu 5 times then put it back on. Beleive he did that 3months ago and 1 month ago he blew his engine. Wonder if this idiot idea had somethign to do with it.

I dont understand why anyone would go w/o a filter... imagine all that dirt going into your engine... lolz not surprised that he blew his motor tho...

I have that bogging at 2k rpm problem as well... I think its because I have a catback exhaust and loses that low RPM power...

Would launching at higher RPM say 3.5K RPM help?

Well, was your car stock other than the clutch. 0-60 and quarter mile times are a bit faster if not the same as a 240 for a 3rd gen integra.

i have a 96 240 with I/H/E timing bumped to 24 degrees base and a Centerforce dual friction. I whip modified GSRs on the highway. You should be able to kill an LS. I think your car needs some tuning.

You should beat the LS even though he has those mods. The LS weighs a little less, but the 240 has way more power and torque. With my 240, I will slips too if I don't launch at a high enough rpm. 2500+ should be good. Even though 240's are rwd, they can be quite tricky to get off the line w/o an lsd.

No offense, but this sounds like a purely driver oriented problem. While a good seafoam treatment always helps, I never have even thought about LS Tegs as a problem. My father (who has been dragging since before I was born, and is really good at it), tried to take me in an LS that he bought to sell and I was shifting at literally 4500 RPM and still owning on him, with two people in my car. Are you running premium gas? because my girl doesn't hesitate unless she's running 87 garbage through her system. Good luck with fixing your problem.

I went ahead and vanquished the shame you brought to the 240 community by losing to an Integra. :D

Last night on the way home from Vegas, I was heading east bound on the 210 at about 100mph. I went blowing past a built Integra and a few miles later, he went screaming past me. Given the 112mph limiter on my car, I couldn't keep up. He did get off of the freeway though, so I pulled off behind him.

There's not much of a story to tell. He was driving a BPU Integra, and I'm running an SR20 @ 8 psi. We lined up next to each other and hit it from about 45mph. I put a car length on him so quickly that he just backed off.

eh...yeah i'm gonna say it's you, not the car...i launch my car at around 2000 rpm too...but usually that's when i'm driving around town...explain in detail your launch...cuz from the sound of it, you're just dropping the clutch when u launch...u should really ease it in so u dont get so much wheelspin

I killed an M3 the other day from a light. It was an older one, maybe mid-late 90's. Some older guy and his girl. I was just taking off in 1st as normal and I heard him hit it, so, I hit mine and switched to 2nd, he was about a car behind and he let off. He just kinda hung back, wouldnt get back beside me. I thought it was rather amusing.
