I posted this in the "general" G35 forum before stumbling onto this forum. Sorry for the double post, I'm new around here...
Over the weekend I managed to run down my 2003 G35's battery listening to the radio (after-market installed XM) while hanging Christmas lights. After getting the car jump started, I found that my interior lights (front passenger/driver overhead , vanity, rear passenger overhead, door entry, and ignition keyhole lights) do not light. Everything else is working fine. All fuses (both behind the kick panel and in the engine compartment) are intact to the naked eye. I have not tested the fuses with a VOM to check continuity.
I noticed that the road-side assistance dude (not from Infiniti my warranty was up and they wanted $60+ for a jump ... my wife's AAA was used instead) hooked his poratble jump-starter pos to pos and neg to neg not neg to block. Potenetial source of the problem?
I've read in another post here to try unhooking the neg battery cable for several minutes and/or pumping the brake as a way to reset error codes. Is there anything else, short of a trip to the dealer, to resolve this? Other posts in the archives don't seem to exactly address this.
Thanks for the help, and yes, I know, it's time to change the battery.
