Who's ready for the final season of lost...airs tonight people uninterrupted...I can't wait...i just actually caught up on the whole show over the past 2 months on hulu and just finished the previous season last week just in time for tonight season premiere.

I have the first 3 seasons of Lost on DVD. I lost interest after the third. Like most JJ Abrams TV shows, the cast just got to numerous. Too many things going on. Too many "filler" episodes where nothing important happens. Sometimes it'll go multiple episodes without touching on the main plot. And there are just too many characters. Plus, it got stupid. It was interesting when there were lots of questions. But after things started getting solid answers the mystique vanished and you were just left with a bunch of people arguing over stupid crap.

i hear ya mod, i stopped watching it at about midway through the 3rd season for the same reasons and started watching stargate sg-1..got through about 8 seasons of that and then went back to lost and it gets better right at season 4 and then season 5 is just awesome.

Fringe is really good if you miss x-files/millennium...i really like jj though...he's really into, mystery and monsters, other dimensions/time travel....it's all good with me when you bring those elements together.

Millennium was great during it's second season when Morgan/Wong were handling it and Glen brought his brother Darin Morgan in to write a couple eps. When Carter axed them from the show, it went south quickly and the second season finale was horrible.

S3 was definitely the low point, but the final episodes of S3 and S4 picked it back up.

I absolutely love Lost. I usually rewatch the whole series before a new season, but I didn't have enough time this year. I can't wait...it's gonna be awesome I've even been good and not looked at many spoilers (although I did hear about Samuel and the theory about the monster).

To anyone who quit during Season 3, trust me, it gets better. Season 3 started off in the midst of the writer's strike bullshat and it shows. The most essential episodes of S3 IMO would be Flashes Before Your Eyes, Enter 77, The Man From Tallahassee, and then Catch-22 on.

i didn't like the show either cause i thought it was just about people who got stuck on an island but man was i wrong...but yea, end of season 3 and on is when it gets good...season 5 is absolutely awesome if you love time travel.

oh and they really haven't shown any sneak peeks of the new season until yesterday when they showed a promo showing some new scenes...exciting stuff!

The show makes no sense to me. Yes, I know it's because I haven't seen it from the beginning. I don't care to. But I wish someone could explain that shiz to me.

lol dave...ummm, no one can explain it to you...it's too complicated to try too...you kind of have to watch it to understand why...but i guess i can try to explain...

there is a group of people who were traveling back and forth through time until one of the characters stopped the island from moving thus stranding the travelers in the 70's while some of the survivors who had left the island got back on a plane to travel back to the island...the plane crashed and sent a select few back to the 70's to meet up with their friends while the rest remained stranded on the island (present day, i guess)

i think they could wrap it up in two episodes if they really wanted too...but that would defeat the purpose.

isn't it nice to know that they know they are ending the show this year and they can look back and tie up all the loose ends unlike some shows when they finish they never explain certain things because they didn't think they were going to end.

The DHARMA Initiative brought the two polar bears to the Island to conduct experiments on them...eventually the DHARMA folks all died, and the bears escaped. Not a whole lot of mystery to them.

lost can not be explained. it must be watched. if you dont care to watch, dont bother asking for an explanation

its only worth watching, if u have a lot of free time, otherwise, its just an exclusivity thing, people who follow it feel special cause they are the only ones who understand the insanely complex story line.

that being said, i follow it, so i'm special. and have a lot of free time.

You can watch every single episode of Lost and still not understand it.

I think it jumped the shark about three different times.. My issue is that they try to get you to believe that this is a realistic possibility in season one.. like the things that are happening could happen in real life... then they keep introducing impossibilities to you. If you are going to do that.. just make it impossible right away so that I can give up caring and just enjoy it for what it is. Instead you keep trying to justify that something could or could not happen given our laws of physics and science and all that... Then after season 3 it just get's completely stupid.. might as well watch stargate or something that is unabashadely science fiction.

Having said all that...I do like the characters and have enjoyed the show regardless. They do a good job of building suspense and getting you to follow the characters.

I think i'm still behind one season... I think I still need to see season 5.. Was it the end of season 4 that the bad guy actually "moves the island" to keep it away from the bad guys?

Yeah, Season 4 is when they moved the Island. If anyone can't already tell, this thread is super spoilerific.

And I gotta disagree with you, Eikon. Granted, I have seen Seasons 1 and 2 maybe three times over, and then every other episode, but I still understand exactly what it going on. There's just a lot of plates spinning right now.

I have never seen a single episode, and I know nothing about it... other then that there is an island, "the others", and for some reason time travel.

This was enough to make the show seem dumb enough to avoid.

I started watching Lost because Evangeline Lily is amazingly hot. As long as she's still a main character, I'll consider watching the last few seasons.
