Lost respect for 240 owner and SCC...

So i stayed home from school today cause my back is ****ed up. i remembered that i needed to go get a SAT study guide and drove up the mall to get one. as i walked into the book store today, i said to myself ' i have a little extra time, im gonna check out the car mags.' i picked up the Dec. issue of SCC cause it said they had a 240 in it. when i got to the article, i was kinda disappointed cause the 240 in it kinda lacked a lot. the guy basically just bought a 240 cause he saw that i kept up witha supra and he liked it cuase it was RWD. when he got it, a 95, he put this really ricey body kit on it and this color changing paint and a big alum. wing. he didnt do much engine wise, just the usual i/h/e. but he said that people always mistake it for a skyline and that they think its something out of TF&TF. he said which is funny cause there wasnt even one in the movie (a 240). i was shocked and in a loss of respect for the guy and SCC. did they not remember michelle rodreigz's(spelling?) 240? i do believe i'll send in some hate mail about it, muwahahahaha!!!

I saw that too..made me sick to my stomach...he also said that he was "planning" to put a VG30dett engine in it... I don't own a 240, but is there enough room to put that big a motor in it, or is this guy gonna do some major modification to his frame? Oohh and who puts 13.5 inch rotors on that lightweight of a car w/ only i/h/e He isn't going to be able to go THAT fast w/ only those mods...

You know what you need 13.5" rotors on....a f*cking LeMans car. ****, even Audi S4's only have like 12" rotors if even that..and they weigh 3600-3700 lbs. Sh*t, even 996 Turbos don't have 13" rotors. Yea, I saw that article when I was at Hy-Vee. I saw that there was a 240 on the cover (mentioned, not shown), and just knew it was gonna be bad. SCC usually has decent cars in their zine, but this just sucked. Must have been running short on articles. It's gonna start turning into Import Tuner pretty soon.

OH yeah, and dont forget the big *** stereo system he has in it. Cause all that music makes the car faster. I think the guy needs to give his car to someone who could really appreciate it and he needs to go buy a Honda or another 5.slow

I havent seen his stereo system but ill just assume its tasteful. How does having a stereo sytem make him not appreciate his car?

i didnt see that one but im sure i would hate it, but i have news for you, there was a 240SX in TF&TF its the rose color car that the girl of the group drives (Michelle Rodriguez).

Wanna know something really nasty... that car is here in Austin. Its sitting in a local shops showroom ... the paint looks spiffy and expensive as hell but its still kinda gheigh. If you guys must know the 240 does have a VG30 in it now. So on top of it being somewhat fast now... it handles like **** cause its too low for the spring rates and it has a heavy *** VG in the front.

Well, I don't like the paint, not much to turn heads in the performance department, but you gotta give the guy respect. First of all, he imported a do-luck body kit from Japan. Although I'm not a fan of body kits, if i was to get one, it would be imported from Japan, just to make my car unique. I think he wasted over $30k US just on that crap?!? I would have spent my money more wisely, would have dropped a RB instead of a VG, but to each their own. I'm glad to see he is doing some power swaps now, when that car is complete, it should be a nice blend of looks and performance, even if it is just a drag car.

not the route I would have taken, but a nice beginning to a great project car. And I would love big 13" brakes, take your car for some brake pounding action, and you will agree.

just me, I give him some respect, but I hate the black/blue combo of colors, that is just plain rice and doesn't suit the car one bit. kudos all the same for effort!
