When I bought the car I had XM, just removed the battery and no more xm. What do I need to know, how do I go about reactivating it? If I call XM, what will they ask?

If your car had XM already when you purchased it then it most likely was activated under the previous owners account. I'm not sure if removing the battery resets the XM or not. Could be just coincidence that it stopped when you removed the battery because the previous owner could have set up the XM in their new car. You should be able to call XM and give them the radio ID. You can find the radio ID by putting the XM on channel 0. Once you give them the radio ID and pay them of course, you should be good to go.

If the XM was your account you should just call XM and they should be able to start your service again.

Good Luck.

Call them and tell them you just bought the car, and you would like a trial subscription. They will offer this free of charge for typically 6 months. If you do not cancel before the 6 months it will go back to regular rates. If you negotiate with them when trying to cancel (before the 6 month trial is up), they will offer 6 months for $25 (plus taxes) comes out to approx $30. If you refuse this option, they will offer 2 months free to "think about it", at which point before the 2 months is up, they will again offer the 6 months for $30.

All total, I got the free 6 month trial, paid for 6 months at $30, got 2 months free to think about it, and paid the current 6 months for $30. I will have had XM in the M45 for a total of 20 months for a net cost of $60!
