i just bought my s13 a few months ago and got some new rims and tires but the owner lost the wheel lock key. i tried calling the nissan dealership and they said the lock would have to be chiseled off for 75 buck for all 4. Thats a waste. What can i do?

i took mine to a reputable shop. THey had a big box of keys, found one that was a close fit, and beat it on with a hammer. Then they simply took the lug off.

I suggest look harder for your key, i found mine after i got my lugs removed.

I had those one mine aswell, and I just took a Socket that was a bit bigger than the lug, hammered it on, and gently took the wheel lock off.

Then I threw them away....what a waste of time.

You can try to drill a hole through the end of it and use a screw/bolt extractor.

Weld nuts over them and use an impact wrench to get em off, I had 4 on mine and took it to the mechanic, they charged me 18 bucks to take em off.

No no, just do as Mattyfatty says. I've been doing this for years now. There are actually wheel lock removal kits that most tire/wheel shops use/can get. Cool stuff. Over six+ years I can't think of one week that I didn't have to remove locks. Always use a socket, but be warned, sockets can crack from this. Try not to use dad's MAC tools.

Take a 12 point 3/4" socket, hammer it over the outside of the wheel lock, twist it out. No need to cut/weld/drill anything. :)

I agree that the easiest/cheapest way to get em off is with the socket. Find one from your tool box that is just barely big enough to almost fit over it, go to autozone and buy that size socket, then hammer the ***** on there and pop it off with an impact gun or breaker bar. it should only take about 2 min, but more than likely the socket will crack eventually.

My socket didn't crack lol, but it will have that wheel lock stuck in there forever. :P

NO! you can remove the lock from the socket quite easily!!

clamp the socket into a vice, put a punch or similar narrow steel object through the socket, so it hits the tip of the lock that is stuck in the socket, and begin hammering.

If you remove wheel locks often, you'll find a threshold for just how hard to hammer the socket on, and what force is required to unstick the removed lock from the socket.

Yup, tried that one. I think i got a little too trigger happy with the hammer when i removed the lock. It was an autozone socket anyways. :)
