Ok heres the problem. When i bought my car, the guy that sold it to me said that he lost the transmitter for the security system. I was wondering where i could get a replacement transmitter. Ive looked in a lot of places and i couldnt find any...hopefully somebody knows.

PS Would Nissan have them?

First thing your going to have to do is figure out what security system it is. Most likely you'll have to pull down the under dash panel and look for a black box with a bunch of wires coming out of it. I'm not aware of any factory one back then. Once you do that you just order new remotes from whoever made it. If it's an older DEI one I might have a remote or two kicking around for you.

isnt getting a new transmitter going to be pricey or is it just pricey for the ones that have the remote alerts?

The ones that are pricey are usually the ones that have all that fancy crap that you dont need like remote start and all those alerts. I only care about my security system working and keeping people from being able to steal my car. At least nobody can steal my car...once the alarm goes off...that thing aint starting unless you unplug the system.

I think that you would be suprised. A good theif could have it gone without a noise pretty damn quick.

Post up what you find and we'll see about getting you set up with remotes.

Most alarms only kill the starter so even if the alarm is fully connected and going off, you can push start the car. Also, most alarms can be defeated by cutting the main power wire at the brain (or pulling the fuse on that wire). No power to the alarm=no more siren blaring AND no more starter kill .IMO it is important to do both a NORMALLY OPEN starter and NORMALLY OPEN ignition kill. (I even have a wireless fuel kill that does not turn the fuel pump on unless it gets a radio signal from the alarm brain. No power to alarm brain = no fuel pump.) These kills are still engaged even if there is no power to the alarm. No power to ignition= no push start. Fancy crap you don't need?Since you're the only one that cares about your car, wouldn't you want to know if the alarm has been triggered? Paging remote=not fancy.Extra items to detect/deter theft:Impact sensor detects bump/hit to car. Most common sensor but if I had to choose, I'd take glass or proximity over impact. Glass breakage sensor is a microphone that triggers the alarm when the glass is hit with metal or broken.Digital tilt sensor detects lifting or towing of vehicle.Proximity sensor detects heat w/motion around and inside vehicle.Back-up battery powers alarm if car battery is disconnected.Back-up battery siren continues to sound until internal battery dies if wires to it are cut or battery power is removed from alarm.GPS tracker- has it's own battery and allows you or the popo to track the car.Remote start-might be fancy. I've had it since 1994 on three different vehicles. It is an amazing convenience. Where I live, it can go from below freezing to 115F. To warm up/cool down vehicle before getting in is awesome. Maybe if I lived in Kali I wouldn't have it (yes I would). If you're serious about keeping your car, you should use a multi layered approach to keep it. I use an elaborate security system, GPS tracking unit, park in a garage, and have good insurance coverage. As many S13/S14's are stolen and as easy as they are to steal, I'm surprised more people don't protect them better. The least protection I would put on a 240 is the Clifford Concept470. No paging remote but impact, glass, normally open starter kill, normally open ignition kill, and tons of options $450 installed.

Well i really dont need to show you guys now...im just gonna run up to the local alarm store and get them to figure out what frequency im on then give me a transmitter or 2 for it. So really this post could be deleted...of course we could just turn it into a thread of mega random awesomeness.

It's not that easy. If they are good they will drop the dash and look at the alarm though.
