I'm in a funk. I started to build my SR awhile back and have come to a complete stop. I don't know if I should just resell all the parts I've come to collect, or find a reason to finish my project. What to do?

What was your old motivator? How far are you into the project? Are you just at apitfall moneywise or just lack a kick in the *** to finish up?

It's a big pain in the ***, then you have to worry about if you did it right or not. All that work and money and it's all screwed up.

I'd resell.

It happend to me too but I kept going now the car is running good everything is working like it should , im proud of myself for doing it by myself. the whole swap, damn parts all over the place hundreds of hours looking for info in NICO many questions not ask cause don't want to get flamed by the NICO Gods but is running now and I think I would have regret it if I had stop in the middle of it.

My old motivator was I just wanted something nice a fast to cruise in. I put alot of work into it so far, but when I look at what still needs to be done, it pisses me off. So far this is what I've done:

hot tanked, deck & honed blockbalanced and polished the crankwiseco pistonseagle rodsacl race bearingsp&p head3 angle valve jobBC springs, retainers, & valvesvalve sealsbronze guides (exhaust side)all parts cleanedand newer parts that need to be installed

I think I need a good reason to finish it or a kick in the ***.

Next time I'm out in Ohio (which I'm from the Portsmouth area), I'll swing by for that swift kick.

You're practically there. A set of head studs, a headgasket, oe gasket kit, and a few odds ands ends and you're there

I have all that already too. Only thing I'm missing is a turbo rebuild, harness and ecu. Oh, and a 5speed swap. I actually wanted to leave it an auto, but I've been looking for an sr auto and ecu for the last year an a half with no luck. I was even thinking about getting a 300zx auto transmission, but told it wouldn't work.

You would need an adapter from Mazworx but it is possible. Hell they have an adapter for a GM 400T for that matter. Anything is possible nowadays.

Fora motivator find someone with an SR'd 240 and go for a spin with them or if you friends have similar performance cars just get them to help and then kick them all around the track as a thank you.

I've driven in real silvias when I was in Okinawa, and that's when I started to like them. But none of my friends are into cars except for my old roommate, but he lives in los angeles, so we don't hang out that often. Everyone I work with are into sports, drinking, or video games none of them care about cars except that they get them to work.

I feel ya sometimes, there's some days where I just wanna give up on my car and get tired, but than I realize all the hard work and money I put into it, alot of my friends also arn't into cars so that sometimes makes it kinda hard
