hey guys its been a long time since ive been here, i missed it. well my z is now on 740cc injectors, running 18 pounds on an avc-r, has a stock slipping clutch and i hear a knock in what i think is a rod on its way out :( but the biggest problem is, well this is embarassing. but my ex took my keys, and my spare set, and threw them in the ocean. . so ive been trying to figure out the best way to go about this... i was told by a locksmith that there is a key code inscribed on the passenger lock cylinder, can anyone confirm this? happy holidays guys

If you have the title (and it is in your name) the dealer may be able to pull thge code by the VIN

Find someone with a parts car that has the lock set with keys. Shouldnt be more than $200 dollars or so. Then you can just do it yourself.

And stay away from crazy girls.

thats what my last resort is going to be, however thats $200 and a lot of work.. i have a perfectly good lock set in my car... now ive heard a locksmith can create a key from a lock, however the locksmith i went to told me to take the key code from the passenger door lock cylinder. has anyone ever taken it out and seen it? my grandfather who was in the auto business his whole life says that it is very common for key codes to be inscribed there, however we all know how oddball the 300zx can be...

just an update to anyone who was following this thread, i took out the passenger door lock and took it to a locksmith in NJ and for $20 bucks he cut me a flawless key that was sharp as a paul hogan knife and opened all my locks (including ignition of course) with buttery ease. anyone looking for a good locksmith in NJ, Bob's in Beach Haven is excellent. couldnt believe it was only $20. but problem solved, and my car is back on the road :)

EDIT: oh and also, there is NO inscription on the lock itself, apparently the Z is one of a few rare cars that does not do that, however my locksmith was able to look at the tumblers and get the key cut. now i also have my Key Code, and my tumbler combination written down. happy visit to the locksmith :)
