lost keys, lock change? HELP

Is there a way to get replacement keys without changing the locks? I worked at a dodge dealer that used to plug in the VIN and come out with a key... Can we too?

Yeha its very simple ....

All you need to do is take out your lock bring it to a dealer... or better yet a locksmith ( cheaper ) and they make a key for you..

Ive done it in tons of cars look to spend 15 $ for the first key nad then like 2 $ to cut another from that one

Im serious...

Remove one door lock. Take it to a locksmith and say

I need a key for this lock.. He says ok wait 20 min... and there you go pay the locksmith for his fine work and leave a happy person. BTW you have to get inside the car to remove the door panel to get the cables off the door lock and to unscrew it ... shouldnt take you longer then 20 - 30 min

no really i believe you and im in your debt for such a dumb question. Who would have thought its so simple?

or you call the local nissan dealer with your vin number, and ask them to make a key for it. plus its only 15 bucks.

I tried that... and no go with that idea.

They tell you to get a serial number from behind your glove box. I gave that to them and they were still no help.

Only $15 from the dealer? I can't remember the last time I was able to get away from Nissan for $15. I'll believe it when i see it, so thanx everyone.

-dude, you find that out short of getting a set off of a parts car & let me know....i just bought my 240, and the ignition & drivers door key are the same, and the passenger side & trunk are 2 different keys (which i don't have)

that sucks. for my car the key is like _____< _____ with very MINOR grooves that point outwards. the key can actually be taken out of the ignition while the car is running. i think ill take out my ignition and take it to a locksmith now... thanks ZULU

yea please someone let me know if they have any idea how much 2 new lock would cost....well 3?...counting the ignition?......i guess wahtever is needed........my locks are horrible...get stuck all the time.........

well last time i went to dealer to try to get cut copy. the guy said some junk, probably didnt know what he was talking about. he said ignition, 2 doors, trunk, glove for like $200... but i wouldnt trust the guy who told me that.. .i think he just threw a random number at me though... hope that helps
