alright, so i just go my 240 a few months ago. It started making this clicking noise in the engine so i checked it out. Checked the oil only to find that I barely had any oil in the engine. The crappy thing is that my oil light never came on. Im think'n it's because of the previous owner who did the swap on my engine before I bought it fouled up on the wiring somewhere, or the sensor is just bad. I checked for oil leaks and I didn't have any so I just refilled my engine with oil. But now my car seems to not have as much power and torque as it used to, and im think'n it's prolly cuz i've been running the car without oil for sometime and didn't even kno it cuz the check out light never came on. I do plan on getting the engine rebuilt eventually, but that's gonna be some time from now, maybe next year or late this year.

any ideas on how to get those horses back?

When you say less HP and Torque how much less? 10% less is not that big adealand wait for the rebuild. 90% less means you probibly fried your engine due to lack of oil and need to rebuild now.

Let us know how bad it is and then we may be able to help more.

hmm... not ALOT less. I wouldn't say 90%. But there deffinately isn't as much kick as there used to be. a definate noticeable difference. I can kinda feel the power come back on a little everyonce and a while when im driving around. I used to be to get alot of jump coming starting in 1st and going to 2nd (1st and 2nd is where I made most of my torque and power).

It actually kinda hesitates a bit after maybe 2-3k rpm and then it gets going pretty smooth after that, so i put some fuel treatment in my tank last time I filled up. it helped a little but, but like i said, not the same kinda PUSH as I used to get.

if I had to give it a number i'd say maybe... 15-20% less performance? or more? i dunno, i've never dyno'd it so i couldn't say anything exact

sound like you just need some plugs, wires, rotor, and cap. also if you bought you car in the winter or cooler weather and now it is starting to get warmer you will feel less power. you car like the colder temperatures and will feel like it has more power

i didn't check were you live

also if the previous owner drove like every day was a Sunday and never got past 4k rpm and you are hitting red line(not saying you do) then you are just ragging out the car and it will wear out faster.

Sounds like you did hurt the engine due to the lack of oil but not fatal. I would do like got_chub sugested and do a tune-up and runn it untill you can to the planned re-build. Los of 20% power is significant but you can loose that with the fuel blend. Did your area just change from one blend to another? It is the time of year that happens.

Also try some octane bost. If it brings it back to life then you may want to get the higher octane (91 vs 87 in my area) untill winter blend returns or you re-build the engine.
