Lost All functions - Control Center Console

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hello,

My 2010 EX35 center control console is totally dead. This includes the settings, INfo, AUX, etc etc buttons, no Climate control,no control of the fans, IPOD, nothing. None of ANY of the center console controls work.
From the steering wheel you can still control audio volume and source, the back-up camera is still alive..
Has anyone seen this before. Is there a more detailed description of what fuses are associated with different functions than what is printed on the interior fuse box cover????

Thanks!!!

Jack

Welcome to NICO! Sorry to hear that your car is having trouble. I'm not all too well versed in your vehicle, but can offer an option for you.

Here at NICO, we have Factory Service Manuals available free to members. Take a look at the link in my signature and find the FSM for your car and you'll have all the info you'll ever need to make the repair and try to diagnose it for yourself while help is on the way.

Thanks Rogue One.
I have downloaded a few of the FSMs and will sort through and see if I find anything. The description of the fuses on the plastic door is not too helpful, so I hope iIcan find wiring diagrams, etc. in the FSMs.
I was hoping somebody had a quick answer, and I can be back on the road.
The problem came about (I think) when an audio/accessory guy her in Florida tried to get an aftermarket Bluetooth setup to work in the car. After a bit of work, he said it couldn't be done. He did not mention that the entire center stack control system no longer worked afterwards!

Thanks for your help, and your kind welcome.

I got a dollar that says your audio guy forgot to plug in a cable when he was reassembling your system after he failed to install a bluetooth adapter...

You might want to pull out the audio system and check that all cables have been plugged in properly.

Also, if you need bluetooth, I have a thread on how to hookup and adapter in this forum that you might be interested in.

Thanks Bob, you may be very right!
It looks like a bit of a job yanking it all out, so I didn't resort to that but will probably have to anyway.

I'll look for the link about the Bluetooth. It would be nice to have in the vehicle.

Thanks again

Hello Again Bob,

Question: is the Bluetooth you refer to in this case for audio streaming only? I'm trying to get Bluetooth connectivity with an Android or Apple phone....

Thanks

Hello again Bob,

Can I ask a bit more about the Bluetooth setup?
I have a 2010 EX35, with Ipod interface but no Nav or Bluetooth. The Nav thing is easy....A simple Garmin GPS works fine in the vehicle.
I don't care much about streaming audio from my Android phone since using the AUX connector in the EX center console gets the job done.
What I am missing is the Bluetooth telephone function. I have this function built-in, in another vehicle and really miss it in the EX. What can the system you have put together do in this regard? BTW, their is a BT phone setup with the Garmin GPS, but it's not tied into the car and it's OK but not terribly impressive in actual use.

Thanks much

Sorry Jack, I did not know that your 2010 did not have Bluetooth for the phone connection as standard factory option. For the setup I documented I use the Bluetooth connection of my 2008 EX for the phone connection, and the Viseoo to add the Bluetooth streaming audio.

I do believe in this forum there are others who added an aftermarket plug in module for their system that adds Bluetooth, but I believe the tradeoff it has is that it removes satellite radio. http://gromaudio.com/store/bt3_adapters ... ation.html

I have no idea if it works or not, you might want to check it out yourself or check with an audio installer.
