Was changing the valve cover gasket today, and I dropped one of the bolts and can't find it! It's not in the engine, not on the ground, and I can't seem to find it!

I went to Autozone and the closest I could find is what you see on the left:

Would this make a sufficient temporary replacement until I can find a proper replacement?

i have no clue about this, but you might be able to get one of those bolts from a infinity g20 with sr motor at the junkyard

Thanks for the replies... I wound up just going for it and using the bolt. Gonna get a replacement (new, junkyard, whatever) asap.

hay man...if its not on the ground..and not in the engine bay somewhere..then it could have dropped down the timing cover or worse..hiding under a valve bucket..if i were you i would probe around the head with a magnet reaching tool...if ya close up the cover and not bother to look carefully it may cost ya an engine later...dont stop till ya find it for shure..no matter what!...thats my advise!..i wish you luck bro.

Had same issue. I went to the website for courtesy part in Texas and order the replacement bolts with the oem number which is 13224-70F00.

Those are zeros, not O's.
