loss of torque...

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

i have a 1990 240sx HB... and the car runs, but whenever i shift gear, i cant feel any torque, it doesnt even torque as much as an automatic.... when its on neutral, w/ ebrake on, the motor shake more to the left (driverside).. and idea?? i think its the motor mount but iono...

where does the power usually lose at? Im having a similar issue. I got no power under 2.5k. I think i have a vacuum leak somewhere

while both of your cars are running....with a long handled pair of pliers...pull spark plug wires off of the dizzy..1 at a time....if the engine bogs down each time..thats good...BUT...if you pull one off and there is no change to the engine rpm..you have found the issue...if this is the case..its ither that cylinders injector modual in the ecu..or its the injector its self...your cars would run on 3 cylinders just fine...mine did for months....if this is the issue..then let me know what ya find..ecu..injector..wire harness can all be the culpret..

ive replaced 2 of my injectors, but i didnt replace the injector o-rings, so I think thats where my problem is. My car smells really rich when I start the car in the morning

i havent done much.. but the engine was really shaking when i got it.. i got the car for free and working motor.. its been sitting outside my friend house for a year.. i changed the spark plug and it works good.. but i cant feel the torque.. iono if its the cylinders or something.. and when i do the compression test, i keep on getting alot of different numbers.. it goes over 30 numbers different but then timing is correct though.. and yeah.. im out of clues.. money too.. :P

if your firing on all 4 cylinders..then its a timing issue..you can advance the timing a bit and see if that helps ya.

its not a timing issue.. it is that im losing all of my torque.. i gain speed yeah, but no torque..
