Loss of Power

hi i need a bit of help fixing my car, i cant work out whats wrong with it.I've just had my head resurfaced and line bored and put it all back together. the problem is that when i hold the accelerator on full and rev it out it will only rev to about 5550 rpm then everything stars cutting out ,but if i don't hold the acclerator on full, say 3 quaters the way it will rev to 6250 . it has lost a bit of power too. Anyone know whats wrong?
