I have an 84 720 2.4 that suddenly lost all clutch fluid and now doesn't want to hold fluid. Didn't notice anything amiss until just before it happened when the clutch started feeling spongy and then just wouldn't engage. I checked the fluid resevoir and it was empty so I added fluid and pumped the clutch w/engine running to get fluid back in the lines. This worked but the fluid completely emptied within two blocks of driving. When I refilled it and then pumped the clutch w/engine off, it spilled out onto the ground. There is no visible leak at the Master cylinder and I also felt the floor board for any inside leakage. None whatsoever. Any ideas on what this could be and how to resolve it? I'm new to owing a 720 and know next to nothing about nissans.

My guess would be a line has ruptured. The brakes on my Landcruiser did that, one morning a line just ruptured as soon as I stepped on the brake pedal. Upon inspection, I found that the hard lines were all rusty and in poor shape. Follow the leak, I wouldn't think it will be too difficult to locate.

Clutch line isn't too long. It shouldn't be too hard to follow and pick out.

Welcome!
